Welcome to JianYundong — Running Training Load Tracker (the "App", bundle ID cn.jianyundong.app). We take your privacy and the security of your data seriously. This policy explains how the App handles your personal information; please read it carefully before use.
1. Data we collect
1.1 Health and fitness data (via Apple Health authorisation)
To calculate training load, the App reads the following data through the system Health app (HealthKit), only after you explicitly grant permission:
- Heart rate (resting, live during exercise, and zone distribution)
- Running distance, pace, cadence and duration
- GPS route and elevation (to record the route and the distance)
- Workout records (workout summary data)
This data is provided by the Apple Health database. The App does not read your contacts, photo library, messages, microphone, camera or any other personal information unrelated to exercise.
1.1.1 Route maps and share cards
- GPS routes are rendered and stored on your device only, to draw the live map and your past routes inside the App. They are never uploaded as part of any sharing action.
- The route on a share card is a simplified sketch (drawn from relative coordinates, containing no latitude or longitude values). The card only carries statistics such as distance, duration and pace and contains no precise location; the shared image carries no location metadata (EXIF GPS).
- Photos taken with the watermark camera are composited on your device with the data you choose. Whether to share the resulting image is entirely up to you — the App never handles or keeps it.
1.2 Subscription and entitlement status
- Purchase status (whether you are a member, the subscription expiry date, or whether you have bought the one-time lifetime version) is returned to the App by Apple after purchase and is used to unlock the corresponding features.
- Payment is processed by Apple. Neither the App nor the developer receives or stores any card number, payment account or other sensitive payment information.
1.4 Motion sensor data (jump rope counting and cadence following)
The App reads motion sensor data in exactly two features, and both are off by default — reading only starts once you actively open the relevant feature:
1.4.1 Jump rope counting
While you use the jump rope feature, the App reads the device accelerometer and angular velocity (gyroscope) during that jump rope session, in order to detect landing impact and wrist rotation and count your jumps. How it is handled:
- Raw samples are computed in memory on the spot — never written to disk, never saved, never uploaded. Only the derived counts are kept: jumps, frequency, streak and trips.
- Reading stops as soon as you leave the jump rope screen; on iPhone it pauses automatically when the App moves to the background.
- The jump count is an estimate, and you can correct it by hand on the summary screen.
1.4.2 Cadence (used for beat following)
The App offers "follow measured cadence": when a member turns it on, the beat follows your actual cadence in real time. To do this the App reads the step count from the system pedometer (Core Motion) and derives your current cadence (steps per minute). How it is handled:
- It reads only while the metronome is playing and you have the feature switched on. Turn off follow, stop the beat, or let the App move to the background and the system stops updating, so reading stops with it.
- Step count is converted to cadence in memory purely to adjust the beat speed in real time: it is not written into your workout record, not saved to any local file, and not uploaded to any server.
- The feature needs the system "Motion & Fitness" permission. If you decline or have not granted it, the beat falls back to the fixed cadence you set, and the metronome and every other feature keep working normally.
- The App does not read, recognise or analyse the music you are playing. The beat follows your cadence, and has nothing to do with what you are listening to.
1.5 Personal information we do not collect
The App requires no account and does not collect your name, phone number, email address, precise device identifier or location (apart from the GPS route that recording a workout requires, and that route stays on your device). If the App crashes, the system may generate the diagnostic log it needs; that log does not contain the content of your workouts.
2. Where data is stored
- The health and fitness data above is stored entirely on your device by default (iPhone and the paired Apple Watch) and is not transmitted over the network to any server.
- You can export your records to a local file (GPX / TCX / CSV) from inside the App. The file is saved wherever you choose and stays under your control.
3. How data is used
We use that data on your device only, in order to:
- Calculate and display training load metrics (CTL long-term load, ATL short-term load, TSB form, and the TRIMP load value);
- Generate training plan suggestions, metronome timing and per-kilometre audio cues;
- Adjust the beat speed in real time from the cadence estimated on your device when you switch on "follow measured cadence" (see 1.4.2 — that data is neither kept nor uploaded);
- Show trends as charts inside the App so you can see how fatigue and fitness are moving.
4. Sharing and disclosure
- Apart from files you export yourself, we do not share your personal data with any company, organisation or individual.
- We do not sell your personal information and take no part in any data brokerage.
- Only where the law requires it, or in the rare case where it is necessary to protect the App and its users, would we cooperate with the competent authority.
5. Exporting and deleting data
| Action | How | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Export all workout records | In the App: Settings → Data Export, as GPX, TCX or CSV | Free |
| Delete local data | Delete the App, or Settings → Clear Data | Free |
| Delete account-related data | Email the privacy team; handled within 30 days of verification | Free |
Because we keep no server-side copy, deleting the App removes virtually all local data from your device. If you would like us to help confirm or remove any residual diagnostic information, contact us at the address below.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a guardian and find that a child has used the App, you can ask us to help through the contact details below.
7. Data security
- Workout data is kept in the protected storage area of your device, under system-level encryption.
- The App has no user account system, so there is no account password that could leak.
- We follow Apple platform security updates and fix potential issues as versions ship.
8. Your rights
Under the personal information protection law that applies to you, you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, and to refuse processing that is not necessary. Because the App is local-first, you can exercise all of these directly on your device and inside the App; if you need further help, email us.
9. Updates to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any material change will be published on this page with an updated effective date. We suggest revisiting this page occasionally.
